Market Introduction:
l Russia is a vast country located in Eurasia. In recent years, Russia has made great efforts to promote the development of livestock industry and become a poultry and pork exporter. The total population is 144 million, of which about 10% are engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, which mainly includes cattle, sheep, pig and intensive agriculture.
l Given Russia’s policy guidance and livestock technology development in recent years, meat and food supplies are increasingly self-sufficient. Therefore, the government attaches great importance to the construction of large and medium-sized commercial livestock ranches. At present, 70% of livestock equipment, feed additives and farm inputs are imported and in some areas 100% are imported.
l In the simultaneously hold summit forum of 2019, the senior government officials said that they will continue to expand the subsidy policy for the livestock industry.
l Alexander Tkachev, minister of agriculture of Russia, proposed at the meeting that the dairy industry should be 90% self-sufficient and promised to subsidize double in dairy industry.
